Gudauri isn’t only a winter destination. In summer, it’s peaceful, cool, and full of fresh mountain air. It’s a great base to explore the region — whether you want a short nature walk or a full-day mountain trek.

  • Old Military Road For long-distance riders who want views, history, and challenge



Khada Valley: The Timeless Hike


Khada Valley offers hikers and bikers a magical experience:

Khada is home to more than 60 medieval stone towers, many of which still stand — scattered across the hillsides and ridge-lines. These towers once protected local families and served as watchtowers, homes, and safe havens during raids.

  • Built between the 10th–13th centuries

  • Constructed entirely with dry stone — no mortar

  • Used for defense, storage, and even ritual purposes

Khada is perfect for hikers of all levels. Whether you're up for a 2-hour walk or a full-day trek, there are many trails crisscrossing the valley. A typical hike usually follows the following:

  • Start: Village Kvesheti or from the top of Gudauri (descent route)

  • Distance: ~6–10 km

  • Elevation gain: ~400–600 meters

  • Time: 4–5 hours round trip

  • Level: Moderate

  • Features: Tower ruins, river crossings, breathtaking viewpoints








🎭 Legends of Khada


Locals say the valley is “watched over by the stones.” Many believe Khada holds spiritual energy, and some of the towers were once used for ritual protection.


According to the legend:

  • The towers were built by giants

  • The valley is protected by mountain spirits

  • The river that runs through Khada never dries, even in drought
