Khada Valley offers hikers and bikers a magical experience:
Khada is home to more than 60 medieval stone towers, many of which still stand — scattered across the hillsides and ridge-lines. These towers once protected local families and served as watchtowers, homes, and safe havens during raids.

Built between the 10th–13th centuries
Constructed entirely with dry stone — no mortar
Used for defense, storage, and even ritual purposes

Khada is perfect for hikers of all levels. Whether you're up for a 2-hour walk or a full-day trek, there are many trails crisscrossing the valley. A typical hike usually follows the following:

Start: Village Kvesheti or from the top of Gudauri (descent route)
Distance: ~6–10 km
Elevation gain: ~400–600 meters
Time: 4–5 hours round trip
Level: Moderate
Features: Tower ruins, river crossings, breathtaking viewpoints
🎭 Legends of Khada
Locals say the valley is “watched over by the stones.” Many believe Khada holds spiritual energy, and some of the towers were once used for ritual protection.
